In Sarawak, work on mains carrying water from a water supply authority is licensed under the Water Supply Regulations 1995. The State Water Authority issues a Mains Layer Licence that covers laying, alteration and repair of those mains.
For new developments in Kuching, the Kuching Water Board requires developers to engage a Sarawak Water Authority registered mains layer to carry out the pipe installation. Pressure testing is witnessed by the Board’s staff, and connections to existing mains are made under the Board’s supervision.
Merakai Indah’s water mains works are carried out by a State Water Authority licensed mains layer, so developers and main contractors can engage one company for both the licensed pipework and the civil works around it.

Ujian tekanan disaksikan oleh kakitangan Lembaga, dan penyambungan kepada paip sedia ada dibuat di bawah seliaan Lembaga.
